Perran Sands Holiday Reviews

(9/10)

Upon arrival of the site my first impression was that this is a really, really clean and well kept site.

Our check-in was quick and helpful. We had paid for a deluxe caravan, i was a little dissapointed that the caravan looked as though it was from the late eighties/early nineties, but it was in pretty good condition and pretty clean too. all beds, tvs, cookers etc worked as you would expect. We had caravan 733.

The entertainment for all kids of all ages is exceptional, the bakery was lovely, the spar always open, burgerking and pizza place good and clean, but the best food we tasted all week, and we travelled alot whilst there, was from their own cafe/resturant, it was that good we wish we had eating there all week.

Do not use the the New Inn pub down the road = repulsive food, crap service, not cheap and dogs are allowed to walk through the resturant whilst you eat, we counted 8 or 9, its for locals really with dogs.

if the kids did get bored here there is loads to do within a a 30 minute drive, i mean loads. The towns of Perranporth, Newquay and St Agnes are wonderful to visit and all the beaches inc. the sites look like they are from the otherside of the world, really clean sand and waters and lifeguards everywhere.

The only thing stopping me give the site a 10/10 was the bins being next to our caravan and the bottle bin being emptied early in the morning, but if the bins were not emptied daily then i would probably be saying that it was a smelly site full of rubbish. so 9.9/10 from me.

We already plan to go back in a couple of years.
Thank you haven!

We stayed at Perransands in May 2010. We had read so bad reviews before we left. I will be honest and say that we went with very low expectations. We were very pleased to find that the park was off of the beaten track and not in the centre as we were hoping for some relaxation time. Not what everyone wants but it does state this in the reviews. Also alot of people have complained about the steep walk up & down to the beach, which it does also state in the brouchure that this park would not be suitable for the elderly, disabled or people with very small children and prams.

On arrival we were directed in the direction of check in, which at first looked like we would be in for a long wait as we were No.186, but the staff worked very quickly and efficently to process everyone & we only waited 20 minutes for our keys. The man who dealt with me was very friendly & explained everything we needed to know. When we arrived at our caravan 487 we were over the moon the standard was very high (maybe we were lucky & not all caravans were up to this standard).

The place was spotless and kept to very high specification. We used the onsite restaurant on two evenings where we found the service very good and the food and value were great,we were expecting it to be much more expensive.

The entertainment it just what you expect to see on a holiday park. We found the pool good, although changing rooms could have been a little cleaner. The pool staff were very helpful and the pool was well manned at all times.

The only  things we felt could be changed is that the on site spar should stay open till later, we found six too early as we were only arriving back from days out at this time and wanted to buy things for dinner and breakfast etc... Also we really feel that the site would benefit from a big indoor play area for the children for those rainy days. On the whole a great week & we plan to return in the summer months.

We are a family with 4 children ranging from 12years to 2 years.

we stayed at perran sands twice  last year (08) both times in a yurt.

it was fantastic we had 2 weeks in sept weather was great site was quite the yurt was on the sand dunes. we were very much out of the way, it was excellant for the kids they played hours on the sand dunes, we had our own bq, and patio set.

the beach access is very steep, no good if you are elderly or unfit!

facilities where good, staff were very curtious and polite, any problems where fixed prompt.

we didnt go to the entertainment at all in september, or used the kids clubs ect. we did go once in october but we didnt think it was good, but we dont go away for all that.
the yurt was very cold in october and very drafty in the gales we had, that definatly spoilt it for us, and the toliet block was closed and we had to use the car to get to the toilets.

if you go in the october half term go in a central heated caravan!!! otherwise its great fun.
