Spent 4 nights in a 3 bedroom standard plus caravan with 2 other adults and a dog. Overall a very good first experience staying in a caravan and at a Haven site.
The caravan was more spacious than we expected and spotless, smelling clean and fresh throughout. Our position on the site was very accessible to both the shop/reception, beach and the main entrance for our days out, and it was a very quiet park with little noise at all day or night. There is a quiet and respectful atmosphere on the park we thought, with fellow caravan neighbours being courteous of one another. Again, little noise from children on the park and dogs well behaved like our own.
The caravan had all the facilities you need including a fully equipped kitchen, TV with DVD player which was a bonus, good size clean shower and 2 toilets. We also had clean bed linen which we had not booked for, which was another bonus.
The only negative to the caravan was how unprepared for the cold we were at night. There was a gas fire in the living space and each bedroom had a heater, but the ventilation gaps scattered throughout the caravan, along with the non double glazing with gaps between the seals, made it impossible to get it warm when the sun went down. But aside form that it was very comfortable indeed and I would stay in a caravan again.
The park site was spotless with plenty of recycling bins and dog bins. The site is well signposted, as it is on your route to Reighton to get to it. The view along the entrance road, which is a bit of a roller coaster, is superb.
We didn't really use the Haven facilities or interact with the staff much when we were there, but reception is neat and tidy and our check in and check out was straightforward.
You can park next to your caravan for most areas too, and the spar shop is adequately supplied if you don't mind paying out spar prices.
We used the fish and chip shop once but found it to be a bit overpriced for a fairly meagre portion of chips and fish cake, but the mushy peas were good. Also, although the park is dog friendly, you cannot take dogs into any of the facilities, and we found it a bit frustrating that we couldn't get to the beer garden and just sit with our dog there. But it's not a problem if you're not fussed about the bar, we went to Filey and bought some cider at the shops there to have in our caravan instead.
The beach and Filey bay are clean, sandy and beautiful. The beach access from the park is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties or for wheel chairs I don't think, but for those who don't mind a small climb on the way back it is not too bad and has a nice view down to the beach, it is concreted too so fairly easy to walk along.
All in all we will consider visiting again.
